Italy is not going to send offensive weapons to Ukraine, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani told the Rai TV channel.

The politician assured that Italy wants to establish peace in Ukraine and therefore can only supply Kiev with defensive weapons.

Thus, Rome says that it is not against the Russian people, but only defends the independence of Ukraine, stressed the head of the Foreign Ministry.

Currently, Italy's aid to Ukraine has already amounted to €1 billion.
