"I took the floor to congratulate Russia on the successful completion of trials of the vaccine against COVID-19. The drug will benefit all of humanity, since we will have more tools to combat the pandemic," said Josep Borrel during a visit to Moscow.
The head of EU diplomacy also recalled the publication of information about Sputnik V in the Lancet magazine. "I hope that the European Medicines Agency will be able to certify the Russian vaccine for use in the EU countries," added Josep Borrel.
The journal the Lancet reported that Sputnik V has an efficacy of 91.6%. The World Health Organization confirmed the effectiveness of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19.
Experts from Stanford and Harvard Universities also appreciated the Russian drug. Experts noted that Sputnik V does not have to be stored at ultra-low temperature.
