According to Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, Russian and Belarusian companies should work out economic conditions for redirecting petroleum products supplies from Lithuanian ports to the Russian Federation.
Novak noted that this issue was discussed on Thursday, September 3, at a meeting of the prime ministers of the Russian Federation and Belarus in Minsk. Russia is interested in the petroleum products supply sold through third countries to be sold through Russian ports, such as Petersburg and Ust-Luga.
The head of the Ministry of Energy noted that for this it is necessary to work out economic conditions between transport companies, port companies, “Belneftekhim”.
"Actually, we will also do it in accordance with the instructions of the Prime Minister," the minister emphasized.
In 2017, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation worked on the issue of redirecting petroleum products supplies from Lithuanian ports to Russia on presidential instructions.
