Alcoholic amnesia or blackout is a consequence of alcohol abuse, when damaged neurons lead to impaired brain function.

This directly affects the quality of memories and leads to their partial loss, according to RIA PenzaSMI, citing experts.

If this condition recurs regularly, even when sober, a person loses the ability to concentrate and remember new information.

Moreover, with prolonged alcohol abuse, due to impaired brain and central nervous system function, the risk of epilepsy and early dementia increases.

These diseases lead to disability, depriving a person of the opportunity to lead a normal and active life, doctors reminded.

Earlier, an expert explained how to restore the liver after giving up alcohol. A safe dose of alcohol was also mentioned.
