The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation is planning to gradually resume the validity of the former technical regulations in the production of cars by February 1, 2024, according to the relevant decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

In particular, all cars made in Russia must again be equipped with anti-lock brakes (ABS) from December 1, 2023.

In addition, starting today, the requirement to require all Russian-made cars to meet at least "Euro-2" environmental class is coming back, while previously it was allowed to produce cars of any eco-class, including the minimum "Euro-0".

In addition, the document states that it is forbidden to import cars into Russia without the SOS button (Emergency Response System "ERA-GLONASS") after February 1, 2024, and that legal entities and individual entrepreneurs must also connect all imported vehicles to the state information system "ERA-GLONASS".
