Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko congratulated participants and viewers on the opening and 20th anniversary of RT television channel. He noted that during this time, RT has become very popular in Arab countries, including Egypt, thanks to its honest news coverage and special attention to historical and documentary films. This helps to understand the reasons behind many global events.
The opening featured a screening of Olga Kiri's RTD documentary Sisters of Mercy, about the heroic work of women from World War I to the present day. Over the next two days, viewers will be able to see films from RTD, RT Arabic, and Egyptian directors, according to RT.
A business program is also planned, with a discussion on how traditional values help unite Russia and the Middle East, namely, a conversation about family, spirituality, youth education, and the preservation of cultural values.
