On Tuesday, a tourist bus and a minibus collided on the D400 highway in Alanya, the IHA news agency reported. Representatives of the Russian Consulate General in Antalya later informed RIA Novosti that Russian tourists were injured in the accident.
A representative of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUT), citing information received from the insurance company, stated that eighteen Russian tourists are being treated in four local hospitals, one of whom is in serious condition in the intensive care unit. Some tourists with minor injuries have already been accommodated in hotels.
RUT clarified that the condition of one of the eighteen injured is assessed as serious and is being monitored in the intensive care unit.
RUT representatives also noted that the organization is in contact with the tour operator and the insurance company and is closely monitoring the situation.
