Russian wheat exports to China collapsed to $2.5 million in the first half of 2025, which is 15.6 times less than last year's figures, while corn supplies grew 2.5 times. Russian wheat now ranks only 4th among suppliers to China, behind Canada, Australia and Kazakhstan, while for corn the country moved up to the 3rd position.
Russia can only supply spring wheat, while winter varieties are more in demand. Canada and Australia dominate the market (in 2024 their supplies exceeded 1 billion dollars). There are logistical difficulties - sanctions restrictions may affect transportation.
Prospects for Russian grain in China: corn - continues to grow, Russia is among the top 3 suppliers. Our country is negotiating the admission of winter varieties, which may increase wheat exports, judging by the State Customs Administration of China.
Earlier wrote that the Novosibirsk region and the province of Shandong agreed to strengthen cooperation. In addition, exports of food products of Stavropol in 2025 increased by 9 percent.
