Experts compared the most visited cities and countries with permanent population in each of them, making a rating of overcrowded tourist destinations.
As a result, Austria came first with an average of 3.6 tourists per resident. The population of Austria is 8.9 million people, but 31.9 million travelers come there annually.
Second place was taken by Hong Kong with 3.8 tourists per inhabitant. The third is Greece with an indicator of three tourists per one local.
The most popular were the Thai islands of Phuket and Krabi, the city of Pattaya. At the same time, Thailand itself is in the rating in a relatively low place.
