Russian leader Vladimir Putin would be provided with security in Hungary to participate in negotiations on Ukraine if the country were chosen as the venue, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, he noted that there is no doubt about this. This was the Foreign Minister's response to a question on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week forum about whether Putin's security would be ensured in Hungary in such a scenario.
Szijjártó emphasized that the Russian president is always welcome to discuss current issues with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán if necessary.
Earlier, Szijjártó announced record Russian gas supplies to Hungary in 2025.
