Brazilian President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, signed an order on Tuesday, July 15, to form a commission for economic and commercial discussions. The committee's first task will be to consult with business representatives to assess the impact of the US president's announcement to impose 50 percent duties on all goods imported from Brazil starting August 1, the president said in social network X.

It is emphasized that the order details the procedure for implementing the law on economic interdependence, which was adopted in Brazil in April this year. In addition, the document defines possible government responses to unilateral measures of other states that have a negative impact on Brazilian competitiveness.

Recall that on July 9, Trump announced the introduction of 50 percent trade duties on goods from Brazil. The law will come into force on August 1.

Earlier, the expert assessed Trump's attempts to blackmail Russia with duties.

Before that, the Deputy of the Bundestag Sarah Wagenknecht called for the lifting of sanctions against Russia and the restoration of Nord Stream.
