American leader Donald Trump announced on the social network Truth Social that he plans to sign an executive order reducing the cost of prescription drugs by 30-80% in the United States.
He noted that he will sign one of the most significant executive orders in the history of the States tomorrow morning at the White House at 9:00 am.
Trump called it a “most favored nation” policy. As a result of the implementation of this measure, the cost of drugs in America will decrease, while in other countries it may increase. The US President explained that such a measure is aimed at eliminating unfairly high drug prices in the States compared to other nations.
In 2021 RAND Corporation published a study analyzing drug prices in the U.S. and other OECD countries. As it turned out, on average, drug prices in America are 2.56 times higher than in 32 other countries. Especially noticeable is the difference in the cost of branded drugs protected by patents. In the States, they cost 3.44 times more than in other OECD countries.
Earlier, Trump admitted that he can not sleep because of attempts to achieve peace in Ukraine.
