Protesters against COVID-19 restrictions in Canada blocked the bridge connecting the city of Windsor in the province of Ontario with the US Detroit (Michigan), CBC reported.

According to the channel, on the evening of February 7, protesters with Canadian flags gathered on the Ambassador Bridge. It is one of the busiest land border crossings in Canada and is also the main route for freight traffic.

The Ontario Provincial Police issued a warning about the bridge closure and advised drivers to take other routes. The Canadian Border Agency advised the use of a tunnel located three kilometers from the bridge.

Since January 29, large-scale protests against covid restrictions initiated by Canadian truckers have been held in many Canadian cities, including the capital. On Monday, Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson declared a state of emergency in the city due to protests.
