Tatarstan sees up to 22% growth in tourist traffic

According to the data for the first quarter of 2025, tourist activity in the key cities of Tatarstan shows an upswing. Sergey Ivanov, head of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, said at a press conference at the Tatar-Inform agency that compared to the same period of the previous year, there was an increase in tourist traffic, ranging from 7% to 22%.

In particular, the Kazan Kremlin attracted 7.7% more visitors, the island-town of Sviyazhsk - by 12%, the ancient Bolgar - by 22%, and Elabuga - by 6%. Almost all tourist routes are showing positive dynamics.

Sergey Ivanov also drew attention to the increase in the average length of stay of tourists in the republic: if in 2023 this indicator was 3.4 days, in 2024 it reached 3.5 days. This indicates the expansion of the program of visits and favorably affects the economic development of the region.

On the eve of the May holidays, Ivanov emphasized the diversity of tourist offers of the republic and expressed hope for three periods of long weekends in May and June, which will be a great opportunity for exciting travel in Tatarstan.

Earlier we wrote that the Kaluga region is preparing for an influx of tourists. Also in 2025 in St. Petersburg the number of tourists from China may increase by 20%.
