A new ecological route was opened in “Zapovednoe Podlemorye” on Baikal. It runs along Baklanyi Island, located 8.5 kilometers or a 15-minute drive from the Monakhovo locality. It is the main transportation hub of tourist routes in the Chivyrkuisky Bay. In summer it can be reached only by water transportation.
The new route leads along the coast and passes by ancient people's campsites, through picturesque places with coniferous forests, steep cliffs with a view of the clearest water.
The “Zapovednoe Podlemorye” warned that it will not be possible to meet cormorants on the island. Also walk along the route can only be accompanied by employees of the FGBU “Zapovednoe Podlemorye” from 8:00 to 17:00.
“On the island is organized round-the-clock control and observation post,” reports “Zapovednoe Podlemorye”.
