Tobolsk authorities have announced large-scale plans to improve tourist infrastructure. The immediate plans include upgrading parking near the train station and the Kremlin, improving landmark lighting, and offering early breakfasts in cafes for city guests.
At a meeting with tour guides, Tobolsk Mayor Petr Vagin noted the high level of professionalism of the guides but pointed out the problem of historical distortion. Furthermore, the administration plans a comprehensive transformation of the city, from addressing transportation issues to promoting tourism.
Previously, it was reported that China's domestic tourism market is experiencing explosive growth. In the first three quarters of 2025, residents of the country made nearly 5 billion trips, with their spending exceeding 4.8 trillion yuan. Urban residents are the main contributors, but rural tourism is growing most rapidly. Furthermore, Egyptian authorities have unveiled an updated tourism development strategy, focusing on cultural heritage, eco-resorts, and business travel.
