Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko called tourism Russia's fastest-growing industry, with an annual growth rate of over 10%. By 2030, the country plans to increase the number of domestic tourist trips to 130 million. One of the key incentives was the visa-free regime with China, which has already increased demand for air tickets by 1.5 times and could increase tourist flow by 25%. This was reported by TASS.
Previously, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office issued travel advisories for travelers to Turkey. The agency urges tourists to exercise increased vigilance due to increased cases of pickpocketing and the potential availability of contaminated alcohol in resort areas. Furthermore, Greek experts warn of catastrophic consequences for the national tourism industry in the event of a complete entry ban to EU countries. According to analysts, Russians spend on average twice as much in Greece as tourists from other countries, making them a key group for the local economy.
