Vitaly Labahua, President of the Foundation for Assistance to the Development of Abkhazia, noted that the tourism sector has partially adapted to the conditions of the crisis. Many large hotels have switched to autonomous supply of water and electricity using stationary generators. At the same time, the private sector, where such systems are most often absent, is experiencing difficulties, forcing some tourists to cancel their reservations.
According to Labahua, despite the power outages, the flow of fuel into the country remains stable, and the number of reservations in the winter period is not inferior to last year. However, tourists are advised to clarify accommodation conditions in advance to avoid inconveniences. In addition to power outages, problems may affect access to the Internet, which depends on a stable power supply, summarized the expert 360.ru.
