Volgograd region became one of the leaders in bookings for May holidays

According to a survey conducted by leading Russian online booking services, the most popular destinations for travel during the May holidays have been identified. The Volgograd Region took one of the leading positions in this rating.

The Governor's press service told Volzhskaya Pravda that the Volgograd Region shared places in the list with Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad Regions, as well as Stavropol Territory. Each of these territories accumulated about 5% of the total number of bookings nationwide. The leaders were St. Petersburg (12%), Republic of Tatarstan (11%) and Krasnodar Territory (7%).

In the year of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, interest in the hero-city is especially high. It is expected that during the holidays the occupancy of hotels and other accommodation facilities in Volgograd will reach almost 100%, and in the region - about 90%. Tourists on average book accommodation in the region for 3-4 nights and come in groups of 5 people.

It should be noted that the Volgograd region is consistently included in the lists of popular tourist destinations. In particular, in April the region was included among the most popular places for recreation on rivers and lakes.

In 2024, the region welcomed 2 million tourists, which is 8.9% more than in 2023. The region has 438 accommodation facilities of various types and levels, and 334 routes of various durations have been developed for guests, including 243 routes in municipal districts and 96 patriotic routes.

Earlier, vacation in Anapa became 40% cheaper in May. Also, tourist activity in Tatarstan is breaking records.
