Young football talent Amir Ibragimov, who played for Manchester United's youth team, has officially changed his sporting citizenship. He will now represent Russia instead of England. The relevant changes have already been registered in the International Football Federation (FIFA) system.
The 17-year-old midfielder was born in Dagestan. In 2019, he moved to England with his family, where he began training at the Sheffield United academy. His talent was quickly noticed by scouts from a larger club, and soon Ibragimov moved to Manchester United. During his time with the Red Devils' youth team, he played 49 matches.
This decision opens up new career prospects for the player. Now he can continue his professional career in Russian Premier League clubs and, in the long term, get called up to the Russian national team.
Previously, Alexander Ovechkin said that the decision to end his professional career would depend on his physical condition. In addition, joint mobility largely determines the effectiveness and safety of training, and loss of range of motion is one of the main consequences of physical inactivity, which over time affects posture, coordination, and even the functioning of internal organs.
