The defeat by Bivol was the first for Artur Beterbiev in his professional career, where he had won all 21 fights, 20 of which ended in knockouts. The only fight that did not end in an early victory for Beterbiev was his first fight with Dmitry Bivol for the title of absolute champion, held in October 2024.
