Olympic silver medalist and 18-time world champion in canoeing Ivan Shtyl commented on the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions. Speaking in Vladivostok, the athlete shared his expectations for the new season.
Shtyl stated that he hopes for a quick resumption of full cooperation with all countries. The Russian national canoe sprint team has already begun training for the new season. Shtyl himself will join the team later, in November, as he needs a little more time to recover from the strain. The athlete noted that the competition calendar begins very early this season: qualifying rounds for three World Cups, in which he hopes to compete, begin as early as April, according to TASS.
It was previously reported that residents of Zelenograd can now participate in a huge number of sports clubs for free. More than 220 programs are available for all age groups and for people with disabilities, and registration is organized through a convenient digital portal. Furthermore, the Russian figure skater's suspension is coming to an end. She will be able to return to the ice as early as October, and her coach notes that her internal motivation is key.
