Karpin, who took charge of the White-Blues in June 2025, has had an unsuccessful start to the season. After seven rounds of the Russian Premier League (RPL), the team is in ninth place in the standings with eight points. Under the new coach, Dynamo has won three games, drawn two, and lost five in various tournaments.
"My words about being ready to leave were not said in the heat of the moment. After that, I had a conversation with Dynamo's management. They told me to continue working," Karpin told reporters. He also added that he does not regret his decision to head the capital club and noted that any coach must be prepared for possible dismissal when signing a contract.
When asked directly about the likelihood of his resignation in the near future, the specialist replied: “I have no idea.” The 56-year-old coach's contract with Dynamo runs until the summer of 2028.
Dynamo's management has not publicly commented on the conversation, but the decision to keep the coach shows confidence in him, despite the team's current position in the league. Dynamo's next match will be on September 13 against Moscow's Spartak.
Earlier, Rotenberg explained Moreno's resignation as “the Spanish mentality” and appointed Osinkin to save Sochi.
