Recently, there has been a slight decrease in the price of the main New Year product in Russia. It was possible to buy a kilogram of tangerines from 50 to 450 rubles. This is reported by Radio 1.
It is noted that this was due to an increase in the volume of imports. Turkey, China, Pakistan, Abkhazia, Argentina, Morocco, Iran, Egypt and South Africa imported to Russia more than 550 thousand tons of fruit, which is 10% more than a year earlier.
According to Alexei Koitov, co-chairman of the Union of Consumers of Russia, the price of tangerines also depends on the dollar exchange rate. Last year, a kilogram of fruit cost about 70 rubles per kilogram, which corresponded to the exchange rate.
This year, when the dollar rate is at 90 -100, tangerines cost the same. At the same time, according to the interlocutor, tangerines are sure to rise in price by the New Year due to the growing demand. This also applies to other popular holiday products.
