After the Minister of Agriculture presented a report on support measures for agricultural producers, Putin asked whether prices could be expected to stabilize.

Luth replied that the price dynamics for different food products is not uniform: some goods are becoming more expensive, while others, on the contrary, are becoming cheaper. At present, the biggest concern is the situation with vegetables and potatoes, which is explained by the abundant harvest and lower prices in the previous year. Because of this, current prices may seem inflated. The Minister said that the first batches of the new crop of vegetables and potatoes will begin to arrive on the market at the end of June, and from July prices for these products are expected to decrease.

According to Rosstat, in April 2025 in Russia there was an increase in potato prices (14%). Also rose in price were white cabbage (20.2%), beets (16.9%), onions (16.1%), lemons (15.2%), carrots (9.7%), apples (2.8%), frozen berries (2.4%) and grapes (1.7%).

At the same time, prices of cucumbers (8.6%), oranges (7.4%), garlic (5.5%), sweet peppers (5.1%), tomatoes (4.8%), bananas (3.6%) and pears (1.7%) fell.

Against the background of a sharp rise in prices, Georgia significantly increased potato exports to Russia.
