The Government of the Altai Republic and one of the largest Russian developers, the Brusnika company, signed an agreement on the creation of the “Pearl of Altai” resort on the margins of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025). The volume of investments in the large-scale project, which is scheduled for construction in 2026, will exceed 20 billion rubles.
The resort will be located on an area of 200 hectares in the Maiminsky district. The project provides for the creation of tourist, commercial, residential and recreational infrastructure. In particular, it is planned to build 150 thousand square meters of housing, as well as an educational cluster and a cultural center. In addition to Brusnika, Sberbank and developer Freedom will take part in the realization of the project.
“A large tourist and recreational cluster will dramatically improve the quality of the urban environment, open wide opportunities for recreation, mountain tourism, and create hundreds of new jobs,” said Alexander Prokopyev, Acting Chairman of the Government of the Altai Republic.
Alexei Krukovsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Brusnika, called the project a challenge for the company's architects, noting that they are exploring the world's best practices to create “relevant, valuable, useful and beautiful space for year-round recreation.”
Earlier, another company tried to realize the project “Pearl of Altai”, but the construction was never started, and in April 2025 the government of the republic terminated the investment agreement with it.
