St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University (LETI) has launched an innovative educational project: a school for young unmanned aerial vehicle designers. Unlike numerous drone control courses, this program focuses on the fundamental aspects of creating unmanned systems.
As Olga Zhuravleva, Director of the University's Conference Center, explained, there is currently a critical shortage of specialists capable of not just piloting, but also designing and constructing new UAV models.
The training will last two weeks and combine theoretical training with intensive practical training at leading specialized enterprises in the Northern Capital. Students will visit the Radar MMS research and production enterprise, where they will learn about the full cycle of creating electronic components for drones, the Device Consulting company, and the Fly Device training center.
At a special testing ground, future engineers will have the opportunity to independently launch and test aircraft.
The program is supported by the city's Committee for Science and Higher Education, and graduates will receive state-issued certificates of advanced training, paving the way for them to enter the promising unmanned aviation industry.
