The mayor of Sochi Alexei Kopaygorodsky announced in his Telegram channel the decision of the city authorities to close the beaches due to heavy rains.
The temporary closure of the beach areas was due to the need to ensure the safety of tourists.
Bathing on them is prohibited until the weather has fully recovered.
Earlier it was reported that intense rains caused the Macesta river in Sochi to overflow its banks in the Khostinsky district.
