According to information published on the government website, starting January 1, self-employed individuals will be able to voluntarily insure themselves with the Social Fund and make monthly payments.
Mishustin emphasized that the decision to participate in the program remains with individuals. If they agree, they will be eligible for benefits in the event of illness or injury. The annual maximum payment can be selected between 35,000 and 50,000 rubles. The specific amount will be determined based on length of service and other factors, the government explained.
This initiative for the self-employed will be implemented as an experiment that will last until the end of 2028.
Earlier, on September 25, Alexander Demin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship from the New People party, announced that starting October 1, Russian self-employed individuals and small and medium-sized businesses will be able to apply for loan payment holidays once every five years. According to the deputy, borrowers will be able to defer loan payments for up to six months.
Earlier, the Russian Cabinet of Ministers announced that no changes to the tax regime for the self-employed are planned.
