Sergey Entts was born in Ukraine (Kamenets-Podolsky) in 1969. While still in school Sergey Entts realized that a strong education in economics was crucial to his future success, so he enrolled at Moscow State University. In 1992, he graduated from the Economics Department and continued postgraduate studies. Even during his university years, he explored various business ventures. It was the period of uncertainty when financial markets in Russia were just taking baby steps. After several experiences in other financial sectors Sergey Entts and his university friends cofounded a commercial bank in 1994.
Over the next three decades, the Russian banking sector faced serious difficulties many times, and the number of banks shrank tenfold during this period. But Derzhava bank managed by Sergey and his cofounders remains alive and consistently ranks among the top 20 most efficient in the market. This success was largely due to a single-product strategy initiated by Sergey himself. Focus on securities investment and cooperation with the largest exchanges later became the second main direction in the development of Derzhava bank. His economics background, business acumen and flexibility determined business success of all his projects in banking, investment and FinTech. His extraordinary ability to adapt to changing conditions has enabled him to lead the bank through every market fluctuation.
The next pivotal moment came when the bank started offering remote banking guarantees. This was a truly revolutionary innovation — Sergey’s bank was the first in the market to offer such a product, and now it is widely used by leading financial institutions. Nevertheless, Derzhava is still at the top of this sector of the market.
The bank and other projects of Sergey Entts have always been independent - not affiliated with large business or government - and focused on small and medium-sized businesses. He has always adhered to the principles of sustainable development, even before it became a trendy topic.
Sergey’s early hands-on experience in banking operations gave him deep insight into all internal processes. Later he focused on strategic development, from 2014 to 2023 he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.
At last we can say that Sergey is now an expert in overseeing strategic corporate governance, creating innovative banking products, investing in FinTech and emerging technologies. He specializes in a broad portfolio: equities, debt instruments, derivatives, structured products, and funds (OEICs, UCITS, AMCs, PE), as well as private and commercial banking.
After nearly 30 years in the Russian banking sector Sergey Entts turned to international projects in Cyprus, UAE, Kyrgyz Republic - in banking, financial consulting, securities, agrotourism and so on.
His contemporary strategy is dedicated to building a unique bank focused on investments in securities in Kyrgyz Republic and on developing financial business in a great international hub in Dubai. His aim is to create an international financial platform providing top-tier services including advisory, investment banking, wealth management, structured products and brokerage.
This year Sergey Entts started establishing a Muras Bank in Bishkek (Bank has been registered and now is waiting for a license from National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic). By decision of the NBKR, Sergey Entts has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Muras Bank. Stock market and banking investments are not developed enough in Kyrgyzstan, so it is an essential area for boosting the country’s financial activity. Bishkek is now developing as a digital hub in Central Asia, so the choice of this location is not random - Sergey Entts as usual used his commercial savvy, deep knowledge and flexibility for another rise.
Sergey Entts is also interested in restoring historic properties, agrotourism and contemporary art. He is now establishing several cultural projects in Italy. Although these plans are outside the financial sphere, they will undoubtedly succeed thanks to Sergey's business acumen and keen decision-making.
