Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said that veterans from a number of foreign countries, including the United States, Israel, Armenia and Mongolia, are expected to attend the anniversary parade in Moscow dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.
The solemn event, which is a military parade on Red Square, will start at 10:00 Moscow time. Information on the exact number of participants has not yet been disclosed. However, as Defense Minister Andrei Belousov stated in January, not only Russian servicemen, including those who took part in the special operation in Ukraine, but also representatives of the armed forces of other states will take part in the parade.
Belousov noted that invitations to participate in the parade were sent to military units from 19 friendly countries. Among the states that confirmed their participation, he emphasized seven countries that were formerly part of the USSR. At the end of 2024, the Kremlin reported that military units from North Korea were invited to participate.
It is also known about the participation of military personnel from Azerbaijan. In early April, Azerbaijan's ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, announced Baku's intention to send 80 servicemen to Moscow. The press service of the National Guard of Kyrgyzstan reported about a similar number of servicemen who will arrive from this republic.
In addition, it became known that the grandson of Charles de Gaulle and the first Czechoslovak cosmonaut will come to Moscow for the Victory Parade.
