Asteroid, which was discovered by Siberian astronomer Timur Kryachko back in January 2008 within the Main Belt of asteroids between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, received the serial number 591861, reports "Evening Moscow". According to the rules of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), the discoverer of the asteroid can offer it for registration, but the decision on the name is taken collegially.

The idea to name the asteroid after Sergey Yazev was proposed by journalist Natalia Bulgakova, with whom the astronomer cooperated in the local planetarium. Timur Kryachko agreed with this idea and applied for renaming. The scientists of the IAU working group unanimously decided to name the asteroid "Sergeyyazev".

Sergey Yazev was modest about the news that the asteroid was named after him, noting that it was just a convention. He shared information that the asteroid with the serial number 6845 was named in honor of his mother Kira Mansurova astronomer Nikolai Chernykh.

Earlier, Baikonur told about the impact of the recent earthquake on the spaceport, and also Shoigu said that the West should realize that it is better not to mess with the Russian Federation.
