The Tverskoy Court in Moscow has accepted a claim from lawyer and Afghanistan veteran Alexander Treshchev. The claim against People's Artist Alla Pugacheva is valued at one and a half billion rubles.
This is the veteran's second attempt to secure a court hearing. A similar claim was previously filed in the Savelovsky Court, but it was dismissed, with procedural deficiencies required.
The lawsuit stems from an interview Pugacheva gave to journalist Katerina Gordeeva*, a recognized foreign agent. The veteran claims he took the diva's remarks as a personal insult.
In his claim, Treshchev states that the artist, in his opinion, made statements that discredited the head of state, questioned the validity of key political decisions, and offended the feelings of military personnel and law enforcement officers, all while expressing sympathy for the leader of the Chechen separatists.
The financial component of the claim is largely symbolic. The plaintiff intends to keep only one ruble if the claim is upheld, and plans to transfer the enormous sum of 1,499,999,999 rubles to the state treasury. These funds are expected to be used to support combat veterans.
