The performer of the role of Neo in "The Matrix" Keanu Reeves donated most of his royalties for filming the first part of the franchise to charity, writes the Daily Mail.
Back in 1991, Keanu's younger sister Kim was diagnosed with leukemia. Eight years later, in 1999, the celebrity donated 70% of the earnings from the filming of the first "Matrix" to the research fund for this disease.
Reeves became his sister's guardian. After 10 years of struggle, the "blood cancer" receded and the girl went into remission.
Later, Keanu Reeves founded his own charitable foundation to help cancer patients. However, he did not name the organization by his own name.
