During his working visit to the Republic of Belarus, Tomsk Region Governor Vladimir Mazur met with Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus. The discussions focused on promising joint projects and deepening bilateral cooperation.
Deputy Governor Lyudmila Ogorodova and TUSUR Rector Viktor Rulevsky presented reports on specific areas of collaboration. They highlighted the potential for cooperation in science and industrial and technological cooperation.
Vladimir Mazur emphasized the Tomsk Region's contribution to ensuring the country's technological sovereignty and outlined an ambitious goal: to increase the share of high-tech products in the gross regional product (GRP) to 33.3% by 2030, noting that the current figure is currently 10% below the target.
Vladimir Karanik, in turn, expressed confidence in achieving these goals thanks to Tomsk's strong scientific potential and assured of the Belarusian side's readiness to provide assistance. Other representatives of the Tomsk regional administration and scientific and educational institutions from both countries also participated in the meeting, the Tomsk regional administration told NIA Tomsk.
