Hungarian scientists have identified 3 types of dog owners

Researchers from Hungary's Eötvös Loránd University conducted a study in which they surveyed 800 people about their relationship with their dogs. The results showed that 97.6% of owners valued physical contact with their pet, 93.7% reported “unconditional love” and 88.4% admired their beauty.

The study identified three types of dog owners. The publication Scientific Reports wrote about it.

The first type is the “friendly coworker”: owners who view the dog as a helper and protector, having a strong emotional bond with it. They usually prefer Border Collies or sheepdogs.

The second type is the “dog parent”: such owners establish a close relationship with the pet without seeing it as a helper. Most often they choose boxers or dachshunds.

The third category is “companion”: these owners take dogs for socializing, but keep an emotional distance. They like English Cocker Spaniels, Moodies or Labradors.

Earlier, American and British scientists studied the influence of pets on children.

Also told how to bring up a dog or cat and what should not be allowed to pets.
