Russian scientists have found out why uterine myoma develops. A study by specialists from the Laboratory of Immunogenetics at the Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Lymphology has revealed that myoma growth is influenced by combined genetic traits.
In particular, scientists managed to identify more than 20 genetic variants of mutations that occur most often in patients with myoma. The experiment was conducted with the participation of more than 100 women, writes "Gazeta.ru".
For example, such patients had a higher concentration of certain combinations of genes regulating the activity of inflammation, as well as the intensity of vascular growth and the formation of extracellular matrix. All these mutated genes are responsible for the synthesis of proteins that are involved in the growth and development of cancer cells.
Russian scientists insist that to treat uterine myoma, we should use drugs that target these factors. For example, drugs for targeted therapy, which will be able to replace surgical treatment.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Academy of Sciences Krasnikov said that Russia had to develop its science faster because of sanctions, and experts from Australia found out how the brain of lovers works.
