St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov said during a direct line that the dilapidated building of the Stables Department is planned to be reconstructed and a new cultural center will be opened on its territory. In 2020 it was recognized as an object of cultural heritage and is now rented by LLC “Vedomstvo”.
The private company got it under the lease program “ruble per meter”, but on the condition that the tenant will reconstruct it at his own expense within seven years. After that the rent price will remain the same. But, according to Beglov, legal proceedings with “ill-wishers” derailed these plans.
Now the whole process, after a number of won lawsuits, has been taken into its own hands by the city, and it has already concluded a corresponding contract with the investor. “We will create a public space there with a museum and exhibition halls. I am sure that the Stables Department will become a new cultural center of our city,” - said the mayor.
Earlier Alexander Beglov told about the pace of road construction in St. Petersburg.
The Governor of St. Petersburg said that hundreds of different events are waiting for the citizens on New Year's Eve.
