The conflict between a 39-year-old city resident and a young man on an electric scooter began with a verbal altercation and escalated into aggression. The teenager took out an air gun and fired several shots at the man, then fled the scene.
The victim sought medical attention, where he was diagnosed with injuries to the back of his head and right forearm, and was released for outpatient treatment. It was not until September 9 that the man filed a report with the police, describing the attacker and the circumstances of the conflict in detail.
The police conducted a series of operational search measures, and on September 10, the suspect was detained at house No. 6 on Bolsheokhtinsky Prospekt. An air gun was found on him, which was seized as material evidence.
A criminal case has been opened against the young man, who came from the Samara region, under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, “Hooliganism.” The investigation is ongoing, and the motives and all the details of the incident are yet to be determined, according to the publication Petersburg2.
The company that previously privatized the former Kresty detention center also acquired a Federal Penitentiary Service dormitory.
The prosecutor's office will also investigate Pulkovo Airport due to flight cancellations and delays.
