St. Petersburg's energy sector in figures: 70,000 km of grids and 45,000 employees at RMEF-2025

The Russian International Energy Forum (RIEF-2025) has started its work in St. Petersburg. According to Governor Alexander Beglov, the forum has become an authoritative platform for demonstrating advanced developments in the energy sector, which plays a key role in the life of every megacity.

The power industry is one of the largest sectors of St. Petersburg's economy. Heat and power companies provide energy resources to about 6 million residents, 3,500 industrial enterprises and 13,000 social facilities.

There are 404,000 street lights and 100 fountains and fountain complexes in the city. The industry employs 45,000 people, the total length of networks is 70,000 kilometers, and the number of energy facilities in the city reaches 14,000.

Within three days, panel sessions, conferences and round tables will be held on the site of “ExpoForum”, more than 700 business meetings are planned.

Earlier, Pulkovo Airport earned a billion rubles on parking, and in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, St. Petersburg residents will be shown films about the war.
