St. Petersburg will introduce one-time payments for large families to pay off mortgages

St. Petersburg large families are promised up to 1 million rubles for mortgage repayment

Governor Alexander Beglov addressed the city Legislative Assembly with such a proposal. Part of the funds will be allocated from St. Petersburg's treasury, and part of the costs will be covered by the federal budget.

St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov has submitted an amendment to the Social Code, developed by the city government, according to which large families will be granted up to 1 million rubles for mortgage loan repayment. The proposal will be considered in the first reading as early as June 4.

“The measure concerns families where the third and subsequent children will be born from January 1, 2025. The authorities will help to repay up to 1 million rubles of the loan, of 550 thousand will provide the budget of St. Petersburg,” - said the head of the city.

According to the newspaper “Kommersant”, the payment of 550 thousand rubles will be a one-time payment, and for the birth of another child to get it will be impossible. In Smolnye estimated that about 500 families will be able to claim for such payments every year. From 825 million rubles, which are ready to allocate for this program until 2027, 338 million compensates the federal budget.

Earlier it was reported that in St. Petersburg significantly dropped sales of apartments in houses still under construction.

One of the developers of St. Petersburg sold to the city authorities preferential apartments almost at cost price.
