Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, has said at a UN Security Council meeting that Ukraine needs to choose peace through negotiations or defeat.
The diplomat noted that Ukraine is currently facing such a choice: peace through negotiations or defeat on the battlefield with other conditions for ending the conflict.
According to Nebenzia, Moscow aims at a serious negotiation process, interrupted by Kiev in 2022.
Earlier, Nebenzya said that the USA had opened its eyes regarding the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine.
