According to MWM, while in 2020-2021 the annual output of T-90M tanks was approximately 90-110 units, by 2024 this figure has increased to 280-300 units.
According to the publication's experts, the decision to increase production of T-90Ms could be dictated by several factors: first, the loss of armored vehicles during the special military operation (SMO); second, the increase in the size of the Russian army; and third, the growing geopolitical tension in relations with the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO).
Military Watch Magazine also notes that the growth rate of production of T-90M tanks has been higher than Western analysts had previously estimated. If the current trend continues, by 2028 Russia may reach the capacity to produce up to 1,000 T-90M tanks per year.
In addition to large-scale production of the T-90M, Military Watch Magazine does not rule out the possibility of organizing small-scale production of an improved version of the T-80 tank.
Recall, earlier Putin said that the German tanks were in the Kursk region, recognized by the FRG as part of the Russian Federation.
