State Duma deputy from Crimea, Major-General of the Reserve Leonid Ivlev has called on the Western countries that signed the communiqué at the summit in Switzerland not to dictate terms regarding access to the Sea of Azov.

The document states that global food security depends on uninterrupted food production and supply. In this regard, safe shipping as well as access to ports in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea are crucial.

Ivlev emphasized that it is not for them to dictate conditions and make demands to Russia. The Russian Federation itself will decide whom to allow into its internal sea, RIA Novosti reported.

The MP added that the West should accept the fact that the Sea of Azov is an internal sea for Russia and called to reckon with it.

Rostov region, Krasnodar region, Crimea, DNR and LNR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions have access to the shores of the Azov Sea.
