"The war is over," the US prime minister declared in a speech to members of the Knesset.

Trump noted that it was a "great and beautiful" day.

The US president's official announcement was made during his trip to Tel Aviv, where he is holding consultations with key Israeli politicians.

On the same day, October 13, the first batch of seven released prisoners from Gaza arrived in Israel. According to sources, this group was transported to the Israeli side in International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) vehicles in accordance with the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas.

On September 29, the US government presented a 20-step strategy for ending the fighting in the Gaza Strip. It stipulates that Israel will withdraw from Palestinian lands and cease all military action, while Hamas will release the detainees. Furthermore, Hamas and its affiliated organizations are required to cease all involvement in the governance of Gaza, both direct and indirect. As a transitional mechanism, governance is proposed to be transferred to a neutral, technocratic Palestinian council, overseen by an international body led by the President of the United States.

It was previously reported that Israel and Hamas signed agreements on the first phase of the peace plan.
