By 2026, Moscow's river fleet will be expanded with eight new electric vessels, according to the city's Department of Transport and Road Development.
Passenger river service in the capital was launched in 2023. Since then, residents and visitors have taken over 2.5 million river trips on electric vessels.
The river fleet currently consists of 29 vessels, and this number is planned to increase to 31 by the end of this year. City authorities continue to expand the network of year-round river routes, and eight more new-generation electric vessels are planned to enter service next year, announced Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow responsible for transport and industry.
In 2025, coinciding with the opening of the third regular river route "Novospassky - ZIL," six new electric vessels, named "Desna," "Ochakovka," "Businka," "Chechera," "Khodynka," and "Koryushka," entered service.
In September, they were joined by the vessels "Pekhorka" and "Lyuberka." Additionally, two more vessels, "Samorodinka" and "Rudnevka," recently delivered to Moscow, are in the final stages of preparation for service.
