The capital will celebrate the holiday with a festivalFrom the first to the eleventh of May, festival grounds, parks, VDNKh and cultural centers will host celebrations dedicated to the Victory and the memory of the heroes who defended it in the fight against the Nazis, said the mayor.
The city will be decorated with symbols of Victory: flags, St. George ribbons, thematic stands and steles, the total number of which will exceed four thousand. Electric buses decorated with St. George ribbons will go on city routes.
Structures with the inscription “Hero-City Moscow” will be installed at the entrances to Moscow. Decorative installations “Star of Russia” and “Victory Salute” will appear near the building of the Ministry of Defense on Frunzenskaya Embankment.
On the eve of and on Victory Day itself, thematic video clips will be broadcast on the facades of the book-houses on Novy Arbat. Architectural and artistic illumination of the central streets on Victory Day will start working in a festive mode.
The Triumphal Gates, the Government House of the Russian Federation, the building of the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater and other memorable places in Moscow will display video projections dedicated to the heroes of the war.
Traditionally, one of the key events will be the “Moscow Helps” action. Specially organized collection points will accept gifts for the participants of the NWO and children from new regions. Volunteers will sort, pack and prepare parcels for shipment, noted Sergei Sobyanin.
Moscow is preparing for the action “Biblionight”, which will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
More than 50 expositions will be opened in Moscow by the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
