Since the introduction of pre-vocational education in Moscow, approximately 100,000 schoolchildren have completed training in this field over the past 10 years.
Currently, over 70% of Moscow schools offer pre-vocational training, offering medical, engineering, entrepreneurship, media, IT, and other career-focused classes. Moscow's educational institutions are equipped with modern equipment for research and scientific experiments.
Moscow recently introduced a unified standard for pre-vocational training, based on the integration of schools, colleges, universities, and industrial partners. High school students can now fully concentrate on studying the subjects necessary for admission to their chosen university. Students have access to university lectures, complete laboratory work at universities, and participate in introductory tours of companies.
By the time they graduate, high school students have a clear understanding of their future profession and the steps required to master it. Many graduates of pre-vocational classes demonstrate high scores on the Unified State Exam.
In 2025, they were awarded standardized certificates for the first time, which give them an advantage when applying to certain Moscow universities. More than 90% of graduates choose specialized universities. In the new academic year, approximately 24,000 schoolchildren participated in pre-professional vacations—four-day intensive educational programs organized at universities to gain an in-depth understanding of their future professions, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on MAX.
