Film critic Ekaterina Barabash was detained in Moscow for spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces

Film critic Ekaterina Barabash has pleaded guilty to spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, the woman fully admitted her guilt during interrogation.

In this connection, the investigative authorities intend to file a petition for Barabash's arrest.

According to the agency, the film critic posted several posts on one of the social networks containing false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces on the territory of another state.

A criminal case has been opened against Barabash under part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code, which punishes public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Russian Armed Forces with up to 10 years in prison.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia demanded from the Czech authorities to extradite the former TV presenter Kurbangaleeva (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent). Also in Krasnodar the case against a 39-year-old local resident accused of spreading false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces and rehabilitation of Nazism will be considered.
