According to the official, a sufficient number of vehicles, including snow removal machines and other specialized equipment, as well as small mechanization, will be used to maintain order on the streets.
As part of the preparatory work, routine maintenance of municipal vehicles was carried out, during which specialists replaced oils, filters and other parts subject to rapid wear. The mayor's office also provided routine and, if necessary, major repairs of the vehicles with the complete elimination of all detected defects.
Most of the housing and communal services equipment is used in Moscow all year round. In anticipation of the cold weather, the equipment will be converted to winter operating conditions, and vehicles that are used only in winter will be de-preserved, such as motor graders, snow loaders, rotary snow blowers and mobile snow melting units. Plow-brush equipment will be mounted on watering, vacuum and sidewalk cleaning vehicles.
Before the first frosts, special equipment will be additionally equipped with devices for distributing anti-icing reagents, the press service of the capital's mayor's office reports.
